Notes from Mrs. Jackson:

Another great week at NSS. Students are doing a great job utilizing their lunch cards and acting appropriately in the cafeteria. I stopped in classes during writing this week and was so impressed with the quality of work K-5. Many thanks for keeping our children safe during arrival and dismissal.

A Big Thank You to…

Maggie Joyce, Sue Fekete, and their volunteers for making picture day such a smooth-running event – we can’t wait to see the pictures!

NSS Drama Sign Ups

Calling all actors and actresses!! It’s time for our 11th annual NSS Drama Production. If you are in grades 2-5 and are interested in joining our exciting program, please sign up! You must be available on Mondays and Thursdays beginning October 16th through February 2nd. The show will be February 2nd and 3rd. You will not be called for all rehearsals but must be available for that timeframe until the schedule is announced.

REGISTRATION will open on September 28th at 8pm. A link for registration will be sent out by NSS AT THAT TIME.

Please also realize that in order for the show to be the success it is, we need heavy parent participation. There is something for everyone to help with, but we need everyone to contribute their time as this program is run by volunteers.

Please look out for the link for registration in 2 weeks.  This program is very popular and is filled on a first come, first served basis and we do have a limited amount of roles available.   Please also note that there will NOT be a behind-the-scenes art program this year, so the only way to be a part of this years drama production is through the show.

The cost is $135 for Grades 3-5 (regardless of the role) and $65 for 2nd Graders.  In order to participate in the drama program, you MUST be a current member of the PTA as this program is insured and run by the PTA.

If you have any questions, please contact

Pack 95 will have a table set up at the Trumbull mall in front of the Cheesecake Factory to the left of the Pretzel Time kiosk both Saturday and Sunday from 10-6pm. Please show our scouts some support and buy some popcorn. Proceeds benefit their scouting activities throughout the year!

Please help Pack 95’s Arrow of Light Scouts fulfill their Duty to God in Action requirement. They will be putting together Socks of Love for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s men’s shelter. The scouts are looking for the following items: Tube socks (new), shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, bars of soap, deodorant, etc. Our Socks of Love drive will run September 25th – October 13th. Please leave your donations in the box in the front hall of the school.

Friday Flash Info

When we have a short week, the Flash will go out on the last school day of that week. The deadline for submissions will then be 11:00 AM on the previous day. Also, when sending an email for the Flash, please include no extra formatting, i.e., bold, caps, shading, etc.  For any “community” or non-PTA flyers, please utilize the district’s new system – Peachjar.
