SCHOOL NEWS

Notes from Mrs. Jackson
A great and busy week at NSS. Administrators from the middle school and high school joined me in building visits to classrooms K-5 this past Thursday and I was so proud of our students and teachers. They were impressed with the level of engagement they saw and the fine reading work that included book club discussions in grade 5 and partner sharing in kindergarten. We are looking forward to enjoying the Drama Production this weekend!

HEALTH ALERT:
We continue to share with you that flu season this year is particularly dangerous, and we want to take every precaution to keep our staff and children safe.  Please see the attached document from the Health Office for information about the flu. The district posted a link to the Fairfield Health Department on the district Facebook page regarding flu shots that are still available.  Please help us at school by remembering to keep children home when they are not feeling well.  Hopefully, flu season will pass quickly and will be uneventful for our NSS community.

Art Project Materials Request
4th grade will be making cakes! To do so, we’ll first need a good amount of thin cardboard. Please save boxes at home and bring them to the Art room ASAP! Examples: cereal boxes, fruit bar boxes, Dunkin’ donut boxes, frozen waffle boxes- (basically anything that comes in a thin cardboard box! ) THANKS –Mrs. Mansi
