Notes from Mrs. Jackson
We had a great week and worked to get 5 days of activities within a 4 day week due to the last storm.  Our students are really enjoying all of our One School One Book activities and especially reading the book with their families.  Math Night was also a special event last Wednesday and it was wonderful seeing so much enthusiasm for math throughout the building.

NSS is on Twitter!
Follow us @NSSTigers #TerrificTigers

And a big thank you to…
Debbie Venech for coordinating this year’s excellent Math Night and many thanks to her merry band of volunteers- Bob Kozeracki, Lucas Papageorge, Corey Pullen, and Torey Strauser for all of their hard work in setting up, greeting guests, and breaking down the event; to Bonnie Liang, who made all of the beautiful decorations and of course to Mrs. Karas and Mrs. Clark who ran the show!

All the families who contributed to our staff breakfast!  We know there were Signup Genius issues, but we still had plenty of food to share with our wonderful NSS staff – so, thank you!

Diversity Day Update
Calling all 5th Grade parents! There are just a few more volunteers needed to help with Diversity Day on Tuesday, April 3 from 1-3pm.  It’s one of the last times you will be able to volunteer for your child. It will be great! The goal of Diversity Day is to promote empathy and acceptance of the different challenges individuals with differences face every day. The program is held in the gym where each 5th grade class will rotate through five hands-on learning stations that address something specific (i.e. Motor Skills/Speech and Language, Food Allergies, Learning Differences, Visual Impairment, and Multi-cultural). Please email Diana Palmentiero at if you’re able to help out at this fun and educational day!

Sick of the snow? Golf season is quickly approaching! Be on the lookout in the next few weeks for the golf tournament sign up! Even non-golfers can enjoy dinner, drinks, and raffles! A Sign-up Genius link has been sent out to each class requesting donations for our raffle baskets and any donations are greatly appreciated. Any family or business interested in sponsoring a hole, please contact Mary & Kurt Rauner at
