Notes from Mrs. Jackson
March has arrived and so has our focus on literacy. It was great ending the week with our One School One Book Reveal Assembly and students also really enjoyed dressing up as their favorite book characters. Teachers enjoyed this just as much as the students. I spent time in third grade this week and was very impressed with our students’ technology skills and connections they are making to their reading. Have a safe weekend!

Art News
The Art Room is in need of plastic containers. We’re looking for large yogurt containers or anything similar. We’re also looking for paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls. Thank you! –Mrs. Mansi

Walk-A-Thon Sponsors Needed
NSS is still looking for sponsors for the NSS Walk-A-Thon in May!

The Walk-A-Thon is the BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and we need YOUR help to make it a success. All proceeds go directly to the NSS PTA to support the wonderful things we do for our kids at NSS. If you know a local business who would like to sponsor the Walk-A-Thon, please reach out to the Walk-A-Thon committee at This is a fantastic opportunity to advertise your business. The banner will hang at the school until next year’s Walk-A-Thon. We also welcome all of our generous sponsors who supported us last year to come back! Sponsor form is attached.

If you would like to work with the committee to help get local sponsors, we can use your help as well. Please contact Nicole Farrell directly at If every parent at NSS approaches one business about sponsoring this event, we can make this a huge success!

Change of Plan Pads
If a change of plan pad is needed, please send in $3 cash or check payable to NSS PTA, with your child’s name and class. Please allow up to a week to receive a new pad. Thank you!

“Breaking Points” Documentary Screening
PTAC and Fairfield Care has arranged for the screening of Breaking Points, a 30-minute documentary the explores stress and anxiety among high school and college students and the unhealthy ways many of them cope. This screening is recommended for adults.  A panel discussion will follow.  This is not only important but timely for us as a community. The screening is on March 19th at 7:00pm at the FTC Stage One. See these links for more information: Press Release, Poster
