SCHOOL NEWS

Notes from Mrs. Jackson
It was a busy and productive week at NSS.  Students are really enjoying all of our March Literacy activities including spending time with author, Dan Gutman this week.  He was very impressed with our students in all grades as they participated with him in some great learning activities in our LMC.  We are looking forward to seeing many parents at next week’s conferences. We also hope many of you attend Monday evening’s safe technology presentation with Officer Guilfoyle and staff.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Odyssey of the Mind Report
A big congratulations to all our Odyssey of the Mind teams, coaches, volunteers, and parents who competed at the CT State Tournament last Saturday. The two K-2 Teams competed in the What’s Cooking Problem and they were amazing.  The two (3-5th grade) teams competed separately in their respective problems (Stellar Hangout and Seriously….Mockumentary) and they were spectacular.  Both these teams came in SECOND place in their Spontaneous competition. WOW!!!   We are looking forward to next year’s competition. Please follow this link to find out more about their teams and problems.
