Notes from Mrs. Jackson
It was a great and exciting week at NSS.  The students really enjoyed celebrating Halloween as a school community and we all loved seeing so many parents enjoying our parade.  PLEASE help us keep all of our students safe during and after school.  We have seen many students climbing trees and pulling off branches after school.  We would appreciate your help when you pick up your children – please do not allow them to climb trees within our campus.  We have also noticed that more and more students are calling home throughout the school day to ask for a change in dismissal (mostly Wakeman) or to ask for instruments, forgotten glasses, or other items they feel they need in school.  Parents have expressed concerns about the calls although some appreciate them.  To help with this – we ask that you do your best to help your child/children prepare for school the night before (pack necessary items in backpacks; have conversations with your children about what the dismissal plan is; complete any necessary notes such as change in dismissal forms).  In school, we will help by discouraging the practice of teachers sending students to the office to call home. Of course – we will be in contact with you if a situation warrants a call home.

And a big, BIG thanks to…
Katie Flynn, Ed Lee and their many volunteers for a wonderful Halloween Party. A great time was had by all and we appreciate all you did to make this event such a success.

Be Smart and Safe at Drop-Off!
Please remember that when dropping your kids off at school in the morning parents/drivers are not to get out of their cars.  Our wonderful NSS Staff are there each and every morning to assist your child.  If you feel your child needs extra help with their belongings, please park in the lot and walk your child over to the door.
