6-Day Rotation
Week: September 9, 2019
Monday-A, Tuesday-B, Wednesday-C, Thursday-D, Friday-E
It has been a busy and great week. We are looking forward to Open House next Thursday.
PLEASE remember to drive safely throughout our campus when dropping students off in the mornings and picking up after school. We have seen many folks leaving cars running unattended and many passing each other quickly while students are in the area.
The Voluntary Student Accident Claims Administrator for the 2019-2020 school year will be Bollinger Insurance Solutions. Enrollment details and additional voluntary student accident information can be found on the Bollinger Specialty Group website at
The PTA would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to
Jennifer Nori
for coordinating the SchoolKidz back to school supply kits.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL  – Please note new date
Calling all North Stratfield Families, Teachers and Administration!
Please join us for the Fifth Annual Welcome Back Ice Cream Social Friday, September 13th from 6pm – 8pm at the NSS Blacktop.
Come reconnect with friends and meet new NSS parents! Make your own sundaes with all the fixings! (*designated peanut/dairy free table). Dancing and entertainment provided by a DJ!
Ticket Prices: $5 for kids and adults (children two and under are free)
See attached Flyer and Sign Up Sheet for more details.
The NSS library volunteer program is getting underway and we are looking for parents to help throughout the year. No experience is necessary – responsibilities include shelving books, checking books in, and helping students check books out. The time commitment is only what you can give – an hour or so here and there makes a big difference! We will have an orientation meeting on September 17th, though you don’t have to attend to be able to volunteer. Please contact Annie Ringelheim at if you are interested or have any questions!
NSS Tigers Take the PINK PLEDGE! This is the 3rd year that NSS will join the town of Fairfield in supporting October Breast Cancer Awareness month. The PTA is seeking parent support to act as the NSS liaison with our Community Leader at Norma Pfriem Breast Center.
Responsibilities include promoting the pledge via flyers/FB post/Fri Flash, collecting funds and organize the photo op with the Pink Pledge Car. Materials used by former chair are available.
Great for someone who wants to help on their own schedule.
For those interested please email Kelly Imschweiler at
Please join the NSS PTA as we work to make this a fun and rewarding school year for NSS students and staff!  Membership is the first step toward helping us accomplish our mission – enriching the school experience for students, families and staff. No additional work required once you join, but we’re always looking for fresh perspectives and ideas! Click here for our membership form.
We are in need of a Kindergarten C.A.N.E coordinator (Connecticut Audubon Nature Explorers Program). The coordinator will be in charge of emailing Kindergarten parent-volunteers about the training and classroom presentations dates, and picking up/returning the materials at Fairfield Audubon. Fairfield Audubon trains Parent-Volunteers to present three science enrichment programs to their child’s class in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Two units are presented in the classroom, leading up to one end-of-year field study activity. Fairfield Audubon provides most of the materials that will be needed in the classroom. See attached for training dates. Classroom presentation dates are TBD.

Kindergarten (In need of a coordinator and 2 volunteers for each class, KK, KH, KM)
– Fall and winter programs are puppet shows
– Spring program is held on school grounds.

2nd Grade (In need of 1 more volunteer for 2R)
– Fall programs include setting up a saltwater tank in the classroom
– Winter program is a ‘Mystery in the Marsh’ activity to test students’ detective skills
– Spring program is a trip to Southport Beach to investigate the variety of wildlife habitats found there.

C.A.N.E is a super fun and super easy way to be involved at NSS!!
Please email me at for more information!!!

If you have a son or daughter in grades K-5, please join us on September 10th @ 7pm to learn more about the Scouting Adventure. Refer to the attached flier for more details.
