SCHOOL NEWS

Notes from Mrs. Jackson
It has been a busy time at NSS and we are all enjoying sharing input about our students at conferences this week and we look forward to next week as well.  Please make sure to read through our safety reminders especially for morning drop off.  As we look forward to the many events this October – please make sure to remember our costume parade that occurs on Halloween morning at 9:30.  For those of you new to NSS – this is a great event where children wear costumes to school and parents stand outside our bus loop watching them parade around by class.  Don’t forget to make sure costumes as school appropriate – not scary and no masks or weapons.

>>> IMPORTANT <<<
Morning drop off can be a busy time for many of us as we look to get on with our day.
 For the safety of all children and staff, please keep the following in mind:
The drop off loop is ONE WAY ONLY. Stay to the right as you drop off and leave and be sure to pull all the way up when dropping off your child.
– Please do NOT get out of your car to assist your child, our amazing staff is there to do so. If you feel your child needs additional assistance, please park in a designated parking spot and walk your child to the front door. No double parking please.
– Please do NOT pass cars in the drop off loop. While kids generally exit from the right side of the vehicle, they have been known to exit from the left in their excitement to get to school!

– Please prioritize safety at all times by following our guidelines and remember little ones are always watching as adults interact with one another.
VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY – Save the Date!
This year’s Veteran’s Day Assembly will take place Wednesday, November 6th at 10:00 am.  Please see attached flyers for details on Veteran’s Day Commemoration and Wall of Honor. Flyers will also be sent home with information on the ceremony. Please keep in mind, due to limited space, this is typically an event attended by students, staff, veterans, town dignitaries, and parents who have Veterans being honored.
