We will continue to provide updates as we receive them. Thank you all for your patience as we sort through these changes.

The current circumstances around us at NSS are certainly quite challenging for all, however, I am confident our entire school community will continue to work in a supportive way through what the coming days and months may present. Please make sure to do what we all do best – support and take care of all of our children. As you read this in our “FRIDAY” Flash – try and think of Friday as a snow day and do your best to keep it as stress free as possible. Please know, that the entire staff of Fairfield Public Schools have been hard at work preparing for the possibility of a shut down. Our Superintendent, Mike Cummings, has and will continue to communicate to all of you as things change so please make sure to check your IC notices regularly. At NSS – we will do our best to communicate accurate information as we have it. Our certified staff have and will continue to develop plans to keep all students learning if we are not at school. This will involve distance learning and all teachers will
participate in providing instruction in an on-line format Monday through Friday. Our students received their Google Classroom log in information and directions today. Please check your child’s backpack carefully for an envelope that contains necessary log in information. Our youngest learners will need adult help as we navigate Google Classroom together. Students in K-5 also took books and other materials home in the event distance learning and a longer shut down of schools becomes a reality. We will communicate all important information once a decision is made to begin distance learning from home. If your child was absent from school on Thursday – send an email to me directly if you would like to find a time to pick up their books/materials. Also, feel free to email me if you need access to technology. Again – I know we will work together as partners during this challenging time and am confident our children are in good hands with us all.

  • The PTA would like to thank Alex McHale and Jen Nori for organizing another GREAT “Bowling night!” All the kids had a great time and the families enjoyed being together for a fun night out. Thanks to everyone who came and joined in the fun! We are thankful for the efforts in planning this fun event.
  • Thank you, Giant Steps! The Pizza Bingo team accidentally overlooked in our thank you note one of our generous contributors to our Pizza Bingo prize table this year. Howie Greenspan, of Giant Steps, hand-picked some fun prizes and gave them to us at a deeply discounted price. For this, we are so appreciative. Please keep Giant Steps in mind the next time you’re in need of a gift or a special toy for a child.
  • A BIG thanks to Deirdre Sikora and Terri Pisseri for planning a fun night out at AR Workshop. It was so fun to see all the wonderful things the NSS community created.
Congratulations to the following 5th grade whose invention was selected to represent NSS at the CT State Invention Convention on May 2nd.
